Delancey

New dropout on 2nd generation Delancey.

Soma Delancey
shown with matching fork. Though not obvious in picture, the fork
will take a brake. We chose only to chrome the front lugs. We want
you all to have a pretty bike, but not get too self-conscious about
it.
Note: Our second run has a higher BB to accomadate the more agressive
fixie rider. It also features a longer headtube for a more comfortable
position. We've had a few complaints that our headtubes were way too
short, which they were. It was a limitation of the lugs we were using
and our desire to stay with traditional level top tubes. The new run
of frames will be the same color, but the "Delancey" mark
will be in a different font than shown above so we can quickly distinguish
the two production runs. Another way to tell is the dropout on the
2nd generation is longer and has a more elegant transition to the
stays.
For those who intend to complain that now our headtubes are too long....learn
to ride in the drops. : ) |

Why
Lugged Construction:
Lug
frame construction has been used since the olden days, but that does not
mean it is outdated.
If you need more persuasion beyond just the cool nostalgic look of a lugs
to make you buy one, check this out:
1. Lugs are generally stronger than TIG welded joints and might arguably
last longer.
2. Lugged frames are more easy to repair than welded frames.
